The Beautiful Island of Aruba

 

    With long, sprawling beaches and incredible art, Aruba is one of the most beautiful islands in the Caribbean. An incredible place that is popular with tourists, Aruba is an excellent choice for a vacation.  The island is a quaint seventy square miles of primarily flat land with a population of roughly one hundred and twelve thousand people. While the main language is Dutch and Papiamento, a Creole language, the islands focus on tourism means that many of the islanders also speak English. The island was claimed by the Spanish in 1499 and then claimed by the Dutch in 1636 and remains a part of the Netherlands to this day. The island gained autonomy in 1986 and its economy has a focus on tourism and oil. The dominant religion on the island is Catholicism with other religions like Judaism and Methodism only recently reading the island due to immigration. With the Catholic religion, there are many churches to see and explore across Aruba. The main attractions in Aruba are the breathtaking beaches and the beautiful arts. With clear blue water and a tropical temperature year-round, Aruba's beaches are an incredible attraction that can be visited at any time during the year. Aruba's various tourism companies offer many ways to explore these beaches like snorkeling, diving, and fishing. Aruba also has a large performing arts scene with lots of theaters for plays and music. Visiting these theaters allows you to get immersed in the Arubian culture and have an incredible experience. Another way to explore the island is to take the guided tours which take you through places like Arikok national park, the Bushiribana gold mill ruins, and Fort Zoutman. While doing so you can learn more about the history of Aruba with a talented and knowledgeable tour guide. With all of this in mind, Aruba is one of the best islands in the Caribbean for tourism. With a wide variety of activities, an incredible history, and an extensive culture, it is an excellent experience for anyone who goes there.
